The Emergency & Critical Care Medicine service has been providing state of the art care for patients at Vijaya Group with life-threatening conditions for over 30 years. A comprehensive team of clinicians including anaesthetists and physicians personally direct all care given to the critical patients.
Vijaya Group of Hospitals has one of the largest numbers of critical care beds in Chennai with about 150 beds. The Intensive Care Units specialize in the management of neonates, paediatrics, adult and geriatric medical and surgical patients who are at high risk for a variety of life threatening conditions. The Department specializes in many aspects of critical care including respiratory disorders, major post-operative care, sepsis, renal support, trauma care and major cardiac events.
The combined expertise of Senior Consultants and experienced attending Critical Care physicians together with highly skilled ICU nurses help in recovery of the patients. Access to consultants in various specialties of medicine and surgery provide additional effective strategies for caring the patients with very complex and emergent problems.
The department also ensures immediate medical intervention for patients outside the Hospital to expedite their transfer to the intensive care units. The goal of our service is to provide the most effective and immediate care possible to patients who become critically ill in the hope that they will both survive their acute illness, and eventually return to normalcy.
We aim to provide exceptional care to the critically ill patients with the help of advanced technology and evidence based practices.
